Back to reality...
Now I know that many folks just can't cope with the thought that they have a responsibility to - 'evangelise'. 'That's just not for me' they cry. They don't know how or where to start, what to say, - but the question is if we don't tell our family about Jesus, who will? If we don't tell our friends about Jesus, who will? If we don't tell our work colleagues about Jesus - who will? The problem is, it's not something we can get out of. I mean If someone gave those people who shy away from evangelism a million pounds I'm sure they would want to tell someone about it wouldn't they?
Maybe you're one of the people who find it hard to share your faith.
Maybe you are someone who finds it easy to share your faith (if so leave a comment in the box below to encourage others in how you go about it!)
Over the next few blogs I'm going to explore some of the issues as to why we don't share - but for now here's 3 reasons why we should...
It's central to God's heart.
The closeness of eternity
The trouble is so many people live their lives without thought of eternity. Many people plan for their holidays, their 'day out trips' etc. but not enough people consider where they will spend eternity. They don't realise every breath they have is God given and at any point that breath could be taken from them.
'Well, this just seems like scare tactics' - no, it the truth. It's the reason we need to tell people about Jesus, about God's loves for them. I've heard it said statically approximately 155,000 people die EVERY day. How many of those die without knowing Jesus? We have to keep this in perspective. yes, no one really likes talking about hell, but it has to be mentioned - God loves people and wants them to spend eternity in heaven - the gospel is urgent, that's why we need to share it!
The harvest is great
It's a challenge - who's up for it?
